15th Anniversary Gala
On 29 Nov 2023, we held our fund raising gala and dinner (*)
at an Italian restaurant in Kowloon, attended by around 80 persons, including local donors and friends, plus special guests from Mainland China.

Guests:
Guests included Vice Secretaries from our Mainland China work partner, the Youth Communist League of Qujiang Region , City of Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, together with Chairman of Qujiang Volunteers Association, plus several youths who are formerly sponsored by us, and one currently sponsoring college student.
Vote of Thanks : -
1. Mr. Dick Man, Mr. Johnny Wong and Miss Betsy Yau, who jointly sponsored all expenses of our special guests from Mainland China;
2. Wines of different varieties from Mr. Tony Yu, Mr. Edwin Yuen and Mr. Herman Lau, for charity bidding and dinner.
The chairman thanks to the sponsorship and support of the devoted guests in the dinner fees and donated items for charity sale. A sum of HK$57,342 was raised in this dinner party.
Sharing highlights:-
1. Mr. Jimmy Chung, our Chairman, expressed his gratefulness and appreciation to the participants, many of whom have been supporting Care and Concern Action Ltd for the past years. He pledged for their continuous support in the years to come as we still have lots of works to carry on, including youth development programs and projects, plus non-stop sponsorship of needy students in Mainland China.
2. Our guest of honor, Miss Wan Shuk Ching , on behalf of the service recipients from Mainland China, would like to express her thankfulness to Care and Concern Action Ltd. for the past 15 years. Accordingly to statistics, over 1,500 needy students are benefited, with over RMB￥4,500,000 in donation. Apart from sponsoring students, she also thanked our support in providing professional and intensive training programs and projects to enable needy students to accomplish better and higher education.
3. Miss Rebecca Chan, the vice-chairman, regretted the passed away of Jean Lo who died in summer 2023.
Miss Lo joined us in 2010 and had been very devoted to the works. She recommended several donors and volunteers to join, and led lots of joint projects with our Mainland school partners, such as Easter and Christmas services and children training programs. Her passing away is really a huge loss to our organisation.
4. Zhang Guilin, , one of our currently sponsoring students, now a year 3 college student, expressed his appreciation of our sponsorship since his primary school days. He was inspired by the words of Mr. Jimmy Chung, our Chairman, saying "Never give up and we will support you financially till you finish college education."

Summary:
Lets review our Sponsorship Program Statistics for the past 15 years.
A sum of about RMB4,500,000 has financed the education and basic learning living of over 2250 students in Shaoguan, apart from providing them with a variety of training and mental health development programs. These strongly enhanced the sponsored students in achieving better and high education opportunities.
To quote 2021-22 academic year, we have sponsored 165 students, including -- 26 university graduates, 79 senior high school students, 31 junior high school students, 29 primary school students.
Since fall 2008, we make home visits to needy students, giving them subsistence support as well as encouraging them to sustain their education.
On behalf of our students and their families, thanks to all donors and volunteers, who have been supported us for the past years.
To run the mainland financial support:In brief, in annual April, (CACA) will visit needy families and examine in their criteria. In annual October, fund will be delivered to needy families to alleviate the financial burden.

1. HK$800 / person: after deducting meals and other expenses, the balance will be allocated to the association for operation fund;
